What is cold cream for faces?
Cold cream has been around for centuries but sad to say I am just discovering about them. It is the ultimate all-in-one cleanser, makeup remover and moisturizer (which my skin has been looking for during this dry season). "Cold" is simply a reference to the cooling sensation it causes after being applied.

I love how this product feels on my dry skin. After I wash my face with Pond's my skin still feels so soft. This cleanser does not dry out my skin. Does not remove all the good oils from my skin.

This is the wet washcloth after using Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser.

As you can see it has removed all of my makeup; including my eye makeup. I am so glad I was able to receive this free sample of Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser from PinchMe. I for sure will have to go purchase more. Price ranges from $7 to $10. You can find them at Target, CVS, Walgreen and Walmart.

Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser will be replacing my night time cleanser.

Baby's First Valentine's Day Card

Potato and Butternut Squash Tots

Do you have a picky eater like my son? My one year old doesn't want to eat anything with a spoon. Even if I give him finger food and he doesn't like the texture, he wont even try the taste. It just ends up on the floor.

But I made this Potato and Butternut Squash the other day and he loved it!!! I didn't have a chance to take picture but here is the recipe. I will make sure to have picture for my next batch... 😊

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups potato, peeled
  • 2 cups butternut squash, peeled
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1.5 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs
  • 1/4 cup dried breadcrumbs
Direction:

  1. Chop the butternut squash and potato into small bite size. In a large saucepan boil water and cook the potato and butternut squash for approx 10 minutes until soft.
  2. Drain the potato and butternut squash completely and return to the saucepan. Mash with hand masher and then add cheese, flour, garlic and herbs and mix well. (you can also season with salt and pepper)
  3. Let the potato and butternut squash to cool.
  4. Spray a baking sheet with Cooking Spray. Sprinkle half the dried breadcrumbs and layer the potato and butternut squash a very thin layer to make it crispy.
  5. Pre-heat own to 350. Bake for 30 minutes. Then lower heat to 200 degree and bake additional to make crispy.
**I make them thin and crispy because thats the only way my son eats anything but you can shape them thicker and don't have to bake as much.
**You can also shape them like Potato Tots and fry them for about 3 to 4 minutes

Little Man is ONE!!!!

I can't believe that a whole year has passed already. My little guy is all grown up (well not really but in my eyes he is so much bigger now).

We did his birthday last weekend and we had about 100 of our family and friends there to celebrate with us. Everything turned out great. His birthday theme was Mr. One-derful. I loved it!!! it was so different. Even when I went to order his birthday cake the lady there kept asking me am I sure that's what I want for a one year old's birthday.

Here is the adorable invitations I made.

And here is the amazing cake... Yumm...

Even the centerpieces I had created where not the typical 1 year old's birthday theme but everything was so elegant. It was all gold vases with a black bow tie and a mini top hat on the flowers.

Here is the overall dessert table... which I am not going to lie... I am very proud of...

Here are close up of all the pastries:
bow tie and tie cookies
cake pops
brownies with adorable gold bows

I had ordered his cake from Vrej Pastry in Pasadena, CA
If you love Armenian, Middle Eastern Pastries you must stop by and try all their yummy sweets.

I had the rest of the desserts made by a lovely mom : Shushan Gezalian - L.M.D Designs

Little Man's First Hair Cut

My little boy got his first hair cut on December 10. I can't believe how a simple hair cut can change the way he looks.

I took him to Little Munchkins in Glendale, CA. I am so glad I did, they did a wonderful job. I had made an appointment for a later time but my little man's grandparents where over and they wanted to come along. We went in about 3 hours early and no problem they took us in.

The place was great. They had a separate room with toys that kids can go play and the main room was where they had cars for the little guy to sit on for his haircut. As soon as he set down in his car, he was so excited he started driving it... haha

The young lady who cut my little man's hair she was great, very friendly and sweet to my little boy. He didn't cry or complain. He did an amazing job.

But I do have to say as soon as it was over I totally regret giving him a hair cut. I don't know what it is but the minute they finished when I looked at him, he didn't look like my little boy anymore he looked like my big boy.

Before his haircut. All excited in his blue car.

All done and so serious my big boy
