Recall Alert: Graco Is Recalling More than 25,000 Car Seats

Graco Is Recalling More than 25,000 Car Seats

The company has issued a recall for 25,494 Graco My Ride 65 convertible child car seats because of a risk of injury to children using them.

If you have a Graco car seat, you'll want to hear this news: The company has issued a recall for its Graco My Ride 65 line of convertible car seats, which includes eight models and 25,494 total units.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem is that the child seat webbing may not adequately restrain a child in the event of a crash. Therefore, the seats do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
The affected Graco models include: 1871689, 1908152, 1813074, 1872691, 1853478, 1877535, 1813015, and 1794334. All were manufactured between May and August 2014 and have a webbing code tag of 2014/06. (Check the tag sewn onto the straps on the back of the seat.)
If you own one of these recalled seats, contact Graco consumer services at 1-800-345-4109 to order a free replacement kit. If you have further questions about the recall, you can call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.
Although this recall includes a large number of popular car seats, there is some good news: No injuries have been reported due to the defect.

Recall Alert: Hobby Lobby Light-Up Spinners

Hobby Lobby Light-Up Spinners

Because of a choking risk with the batteries, the company has recalled two holiday-themed light-up spinners. Get the details here.

Hobby Lobby Spinner Recall

Hobby Lobby has recalled two holiday battery-powered, light-up spinner toys due to a choking and ingestion hazard. The Easter and 4th of July toys have a detachable battery cover; children could remove the cover and swallow the batteries inside, or even choke on the small parts.
If you might have one at home, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says you should take it away from kids immediately.
According to the CPSC recall report, the Easter-themed toys were sold in blue with a pink bunny on the dome and yellow with a yellow-and-orange chicken on the dome. The July 4th spinners are red with white stars painted on the blue dome. “Hobby Lobby” and item number 9130033 or 9130082 is printed on the spinner handle.
The company has received one report of a toddler who swallowed the battery, but luckily, the child wasn't seriously harmed.
Customers could have purchased the recalled toys between February 2017 and April 2017 at Hobby Lobby and Mardel stores. You can return the light-up spinners to a Hobby Lobby or Mardel store for a refund (with receipt) or store credit (without receipt).

Recall Alert: Child Safety Gates Recalled for Strangulation Hazard

Child Safety Gates Recalled for Strangulation Hazard

Madison Mill is recalling its foldaway expandable baby gates because they are ineffective and pose a strangulation danger for young children.

Baby Gate Recall

Madison Mill is recalling two versions of its foldaway expandable safety gates for two dangerous reasons. The gates put kids at risk of being strangled and don't block off gated areas successfully.
There’s potential for a child’s neck to be trapped in the top of the gate, leading to strangulation. Kids can also crawl under the gate and access whatever parents had been trying to block off, whether it’s a bathroom or a staircase.
The recall affects two products: Madison Mill 23 Foldaway Gate (which expands to 3 feet) and Madison Mill Foldaway 25 Gate (which expands to 5 feet).
According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, parents and caregivers should stop using the gates immediately.
The folding gates could have been purchased at Do It Best stores and other independent hardware stores between January 2013 and May 2017. You can contact Madison Mill at 877-220-4705 or get more information from the company’s recall posting.
