Recall Alert: Graco Is Recalling More than 25,000 Car Seats

Graco Is Recalling More than 25,000 Car Seats

The company has issued a recall for 25,494 Graco My Ride 65 convertible child car seats because of a risk of injury to children using them.

If you have a Graco car seat, you'll want to hear this news: The company has issued a recall for its Graco My Ride 65 line of convertible car seats, which includes eight models and 25,494 total units.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem is that the child seat webbing may not adequately restrain a child in the event of a crash. Therefore, the seats do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
The affected Graco models include: 1871689, 1908152, 1813074, 1872691, 1853478, 1877535, 1813015, and 1794334. All were manufactured between May and August 2014 and have a webbing code tag of 2014/06. (Check the tag sewn onto the straps on the back of the seat.)
If you own one of these recalled seats, contact Graco consumer services at 1-800-345-4109 to order a free replacement kit. If you have further questions about the recall, you can call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.
Although this recall includes a large number of popular car seats, there is some good news: No injuries have been reported due to the defect.
