Descanso Gardens - Forest of Lights

Descanso Gardens just released the dates for this seasons specific dates for when tickets go on sale, with members of the garden getting a two week head start on the general public.

I do not have all the details but here is the information that I do have on this beautiful garden.

Enchanted: Forest of Light will run from November 19 through January 7. Tickets go on sale to Descanso Gardens members on October 2 at noon, with tickets for the general public available on October 16 at noon. Timed tickets are required (and must be purchased in advance).

I do not have the details for prices yet but last year the cost was $28 for adults, $24 for seniors and children 3-17, and free for kids two and under.

Pasadena Pumpkin Patch

Have you been to the Pasadena Pumpkin Patch?

I took my little man there over the weekend. I have been trying to figure out where I should take him, between Underwood Family Farm and etc. My son is 9 months and he can't walk yet nor does he understand pumpkins and Halloween. 

I have heard of the Pasadena Pumpkin Patch and it is in the same city, figured I should try it out and it's free.

Well we headed there on Monday and it is perfect for a 9 month old. They have pumpkins everywhere to take adorable cute pictures. They have a petting zoo, pony rides and jumbo bouncing slides.

We just took pictures and purchased a small pumpkin but we can't wait to go over the weekend with daddy and buy bigger pumpkins and ride the ponies.

If you are close to Pasadena you should go and check it out before Halloween. It is perfect for small children and you do not have to worry about paying for entrance fee and on top of that buy tickets for rides. Pony ride and jumbo bouncing slides are with money.

Best way to celebrate any holiday is to be activity with the family. Going outside and being activity together also teaches children to be healthier. One way this 4th of July you can celebrate outdoors is by biking together. You can get with your little ones and decorate your bikes and be part of the pedal-powered holiday parade. 

Kids can also participate in many activities:

• New this year is a 5K run/walk for all ages at 8:00 a.m. and a kids 1/2-mile run at 9:15 a.m. (entry fees for the runs are $25 adults and $15 kids).

This is a great way to go outside, enjoy the great California weather and be active. On top of it all this event is FREE.
